Dear Library: From Laura

Caseworker

Dear Library,

I have had my library card since I was a small child and have had one in each town I have lived in. When I was pregnant with my first child and on bed rest, the library was my saving grace. I would call the library with my list of books and they would pull them for my husband to pick upso he would not have to search the shelves for me.

I read so many authors during the 6 months I was on bed rest. My children both got library cards at very young ages and we enjoyed spending time browsing the shelves and talking with the librarians, learning about new authors to read. The librarians at my library in The Plains have become wonderful friends over the years and have watched my children grow up. They always ask how they are and what sports they are playing. When they see the boys they can’t get over how much they have grown since we first started going there when they were 1 and 3. My boys are now 14 and 16. The library is a huge part of our lives and the community. Thank you for always being there and having the books and movies we love. Laura
