Dear Library: From Helen

Retired teacher

Dear Library,

When I was 12 years old and going into 7th grade, I thought I was in heaven.  The bookmobile came to my school for the first time (during World War II new books were hard to come by).  During our allotted time, we were allowed to choose three books.  My best friend and I always went together so we could choose our books.  Our “deal” was that neither of us could pick books that the other had read before, so they were all new to us.  And then we shared the books, so that we each read 6 during the two weeks.  My life in the library began and it has only increased over the years!
