Art in the Library: Just What I See: Photography by Renée Gremore

"At the age of 17, I took a serious look at photography when I studied with Harold Feinstein who opened my eyes to the "Art of Seeing" through the camera lens. Back then, I thought, TO DO ART, you had to have something profound and meaningful to say, and I didn't; I just loved taking pictures. I stopped my thoughts about being a photographer and moved on with my life.

The Last Vispo is composed of vispo (a portmanteau of the words “visual” and
“poetry”) from the years 1998 to 2008, during a burst of creative activity fueled by file
sharing and e-mail, which made it possible for the vispo community to establish a more
heightened and sophisticated dialogue with one another. The collection extends the
Quilting, Friendship, and community by the Seams Like Home Quilters
On exhibit at Athens
Quilting brought us together, friendships are the ties that bind and the Shade Community Center is our home away from home. This is why we choose to call ourselves the "Seams Like Home" quilters. We are all members of the Shade Community Center.
