At Athens, March 13, 2012 at 5:30PM

March is Women’s History month. The Athens Country Public Library, in conjunction with International Women’s Air & Space Museum of Cleveland, will have on display “100 Ohio Women in Air and Space”. 2012 marks the 102nd anniversary of the American women in flight.  The International Women’s Air & Space Museum has compiled a traveling exhibit of biographies, photographs, and artifacts of 100 Ohio Women who have made their mark in aviation and space. Some of the notable Ohio women in this exhibit are Bernetta Miller of Canton, the fifth licensed woman pilot in the world earning her pilot’s licensed in 1912, and Judith Neuffer of Wooster, the first female Navy pilot and first woman to fly through the eye of a hurricane.  We salute the women of the past who have contributed so much to aviation by having a reception in their honor.  In addition we salute the women of the present by having the Ohio Uninversity Women in Aviation in attendance for the public to meet.
