Amateur Radio Short Wave Field Day Event

At Athens, February 4, 2012

This is an educational competition in which the participants attempt to contact as many other participants as possible, and the colder the temperature recorded at the operating location, the higher the calculated score.

Eric McFadden, his son, Miles McFadden, and several other local HAM radio operators will be participating. They will welcome visits by the public, and will gladly explain
what they are doing.  The event will begin at 11am and continue through the day.

A camping tent will be erected on the Library Green to protect the operators and observers from the weather.  There will also be two or three self-contained antennas.  Young adults are welcome.
